Louis Riel Commemoration Ceremony

The Manitoba Metis Federation will be holding its annual commemoration ceremony for Louis Riel being held November 16, 2013.

Louis Riel was executed in Regina on November 16, 1885. Louis Riel is celebrated was the leader of the Metis Nation, a father of Confederation, and a founder of Manitoba. He was buried in the picturesque St. Boniface Roman Catholic Cathedral Cemetery located at 190 ave de la Cathédrale.

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Gravesite Ceremony - location 190 ave de la Cathédrale
Local dignitaries will be attending.
Opening Prayer: Metis Elder, Mr. Norman Fleury

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
A luncheon will be held immediately following the ceremonies with entertainment and food at Elsie Bear's Kitchen, stew & bannock will be served, located at 150 Henry Avenue, Winnipeg.
Entertainment will be supplied by Mr. Al Desjarlais
