Manitoba Metis Federation's Response to Tragedies in Ottawa

Joining other dignitaries and leaders across Canada and the world, Manitoba Metis Federation President, David Chartrand expressed his shock regarding the tragic incidents befalling the nation this past week, referring to the hit-and-run incident in Quebec and the shootings in Ottawa.

"We are all deeply troubled by these senseless acts of violence. Speaking on behalf of all Manitoba Metis citizens,  I want to convey our solidarity and we stand side-by-side with all Canadian citizens during this difficult time."

"The Manitoba Metis Federation and the Metis people reaffirm that as Canadians we will never yield to violence and remain united in our faith in democracy and justice. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of Canadian Forces Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Corporal Nathan Cirilo"
