September 22, 2016

Winnipeg, MB – The Infinity Women Secretariat will be hosting their 4th Annual General Assembly (AGA) in conjunction with the Manitoba Metis Federation’s 48th Annual General Assembly at Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg, on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at 5:30 pm. The Infinity Women Secretariat (IWS) helps connect and empower Métis Women in Manitoba to promote and enhance their social, cultural and economic well-being. The IWS became a Manitoba Metis Federation Affiliate in 2013.

During the IWS AGA, Métis Women will celebrate progresses made over the past year, discuss issues faced by Métis Women, and explore opportunities to assist them in becoming successful in their business ventures. In addition, a new form of communication will be unveiled at the Assembly to increase communication with their members, among other activities and announcements to be made.

The IWS AGA will also feature presentations by Paul Paradis, CEO of the Louis Riel Capital Corporation, and John Coutris, CEO of the Metis Economic Development Fund. Over the past year, the Secretariat has been busy connecting Métis Women throughout the province with opportunities by which they could move forward many significant issues, including the areas of entrepreneurship and economic development.

“We believe Métis women have a unique perspective on business,” says Anita Campbell, Spokesperson for Infinity Women Secretariat. “And with the right tools they can become a strong force for economic development and prosperity.”

“It is through the hard work and dedication of our IWS Board of Directors, MMF Leaders, staff and Métis Citizens that we are able to move forward and develop opportunities for Métis Women,” adds Campbell. “It is with these opportunities and partnerships that will lead to individual success while contributing to the overall health and betterment of the Métis Nation in Manitoba.”
