Special Advisory from President David Chartrand

March 13, 2020

This week President Chartrand travelled to Ottawa to attend the National Indigenous Leaders meeting with the Prime Minister and the First Ministers Meeting. He will return home to Manitoba on Saturday with Minister Goodon and his team directly from Ottawa to Winnipeg.

As a precaution for the health and safety of the MMF staff, their families and friends, President Chartrand, Minister Goodon and their accompanying staff will stay home and self-isolate for at least several days to prevent possible COVID-19 virus transmission.

The MMF leadership and staff are taking an active role in prevention during these cautionary times. MMF is committed to ensuring the ongoing protection of Metis Citizens and all Manitobans.

For the latest recommendations and guidelines please ensure you are visiting trusted health sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Health Canada, and Manitoba Health. Also be sure to keep up to date with the MMF’s health action plan. We are committed to providing clear communication so that we all can be vigilant.

Please take extra care.
