David Beaudin was first Elected in June 2018 as one of two Regional Directors for the Winnipeg Region of the Manitoba Métis Federation.

He was then appointed Associate Minister of Education in July of 2018 and further promoted to Minister of Agriculture in early 2021.

As a member of the MMF Cabinet Minister Beaudin is also the co-chair of the Provincial Education working group who successfully launched the first University funding program for Métis People. "The Post Secondary Education Support Program".

Before running for the MMF cabinet, Minister Beaudin was the inaugural chairperson of New Horizons Métis Local in the Winnipeg Region beginning in 2004 and was successfully re-elected for 14 years.

Under his leadership, New Horizons was an early adopter of technology and online meetings beginning in 2006.

He is also an instructor at Red River College specializing in technology, trades, and business within the school of Indigenous education. During his career at RRC he completed the Certificate in Adult Education and the Vocational Teaching Diploma while working towards a B.Ed. Later he would complete a PEng Level 4 Certificate in 2018.

Minister Beaudin was born and raised in Winnipeg with parents from two historical Métis communities of St. Laurent MB and St. Eustache MB.
