Bus Driver - Louis Riel Institute

The Louis Riel Institute seeks to fill one Casual, Bus Driver position located in Winnipeg, MB.

As a Bus Driver of our 24-passenger bus, you will be responsible for transporting passengers to/from meetings, events, conferences or tours as needed. You will be required to maintain a high standard of vehicle maintenance and cleanliness, while ensuring the safety of our patrons at all times. You must be professional, patient and reliable while remaining on schedule, with the ability to seek alternate routes if and when necessary.

Job Duties:

  • Ensuring and implementing the safety of our passengers at all times.
  • Picking up and dropping off passengers at their designated locations, safely
  • Assisting passengers with special needs while entering or exiting the bus
  • Performing bus inspections - prior to and after each trip
  • Directing passengers during emergency evacuations if/when necessary
  • Cleaning both the inside and outside of bus at the end of each shift
  • Fueling up when needed/ensuring the bus has plenty of fuel in it for necessary trips

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience
  • Valid class 4 driver's license
  • Zero detriments on driver's abstract
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Valid Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry checks
  • Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada approved Covid-19 vaccine
