Flat Roof Apprentice/Labourer - Transcona Roofing

JOB TITLE: FLAT ROOF APPRENTICE/LABOURER

CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME

JOB POSTING CLOSING DATE: OCTOBER 9TH, 2021

STARTING WAGE: $17.50 - $20.00/HR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

FLAT ROOFING INSTALLATION

• Assist crew members with the application of roofing materials
• Manage the storage and protection of materials until job is completed
• Ensure that all safety equipment is properly utilized at the jobsite

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED Roofing technical training apprenticeship would be an asset
• Safety Certification in Fall Protection, WHMIS/GHS and any machinery training would be an asset
• 1-2 years construction experience is an asset
• Previous experience operating construction machinery would be an asset
• Experience working with roofing systems (Mod-Bit, EPDM, TPO, Asphalt & Gravel) is an asset but not required

• Reliable
• Basic math skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

ESSENTIAL JOB CONDITIONS

• Ability to work at heights and climb up and down ladders
• Physical demands of jobs would require balancing, lifting up to 100 , kneeling, crouching and/or crawling with long periods of standing

• Required to work early mornings with the possibility of late nights, overtime, and weekends when needed (based on seasonal conditions)
• Ability to work in various weather conditions (harsh environments

PREFERRED JOB CONDITIONS

• At times may be required to work outside the city in rural communities
• Valid driver's license and clean abstract is required
