The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the National Government of the Red River Métis - also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis is Canada's Negotiating Partner in Confederation and the Founder of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Program Coordinator position within our Red River Métis National Heritage Centre located at 335 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. Reporting to the Director, the Program Coordinator assists in planning, implementation and interpretation of funding and contribution agreements to ensure deadlines and deliverables for the Red River Métis National Heritage Centre (RRMNHC) are met.

Job Duties/Competencies:

  • Manage contribution, financial, inter-institutional and artifact maintenance agreements;
  • Coordinate and ensure that compliance with contract and contribution agreement deadlines and deliverables are met;
  • Coordinate schedule and budget with RRMNHC project team;
  • Implement and monitor a consistent procedure for office administration, records, tracking invoices and expenditures, and reporting management;
  • Identify new gallery and Centre programs and activities opportunities;
  • Develop reports and communications in accordance with signed contracts/contribution agreements;
  • Identify new and existing sources of revenue and activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or relevant field, equivalent experience and training may be considered;
  • Experience as a Program Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Government Management or relevant position;
  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures;
  • Experience in preparing funding proposals for cultural projects and programs;
  • Knowledge of Museum curation and/or Archive management is an asset;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
