The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Program Manager position within our Housing First Department located within our Southwest Regional Office in Brandon, MB. The Program Manager will be responsible for overall development and implementation of the program. The incumbent will be expected to attend to crisis situations during non office hours.
Job Duties/Competencies:
- Work directly with clients providing guidance, support and advocacy including client intakes, needs assessments, access to resources, etc;
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. community agencies, landlords, government officials, etc);
- Prepare program funding proposals, grant applications, and identify other funding opportunities;
- Develop program in accordance with signed contracts/contribution agreements;
- Collect program statistics and provide written monthly and annual reports on department activities and results;
- Assist in financial activities such as monthly cash flow, financial reporting, budgets, etc.;
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding of staff and provide recommendations on all HR matters;
- Provide excellent leadership to the Housing First staff and foster a positive working environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work is required and must be currently registered, or willing to register, and in good standing with the Manitoba College of Social Workers;
- Minimum of two years' experience within a management or supervisor role in social services, supported housing, or with vulnerable population is required;
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
- Excellent judgement skills, critical thinking skills, and strong ethics that guide decision-making;
- Experience developing and supporting a strong, respectful team-based approach to service delivery;
- Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
- Clear Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Criminal Record Check required;
- Knowledge of Housing First Programs, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
- Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
