Mildred Dorion
Associate Minister

Mildred Dorion is a proud single mother to Dakota and William, who grew up in a family of 12 residing first in The Pas Region and later relocating to the Thompson Region. In working with Métis youth and Elders starting back in 1991 through the Thompson local.

Minister Dorion then sat as Vice Chair for Thompson in 2009. Additionally, in 2011 she sat as a Board Member and Vice Chair for 2 terms following. Minister Dorion was elected to her Ministerial position back in the 2018 election to the MMF Cabinet as the Associate Minister of Environment & Mining and is currently serving her first term.

Supporting the Thompson local in a variety of events, including ice fishing, jigging, and square-dancing activities, Minister Dorion has and continues to enjoy contributing to the fulfillment of sustaining Métis culture in her community.

Having the opportunity to represent the Environment & Mining portfolio is an immense responsibility and feeds into her love of the outdoors. For many years she worked at University College of the North and has since retired to enjoy time with family, friends, and advocating for Métis Citizens through her Ministerial position.
