Storm Emergency Response Update

June 30, 2026

Dear Red River Métis Citizens,

We understand that storms and floods continue to impact our Citizens across the Homeland, and our thoughts are with you all. We are currently experiencing another wave of storm damage across Manitoba which has affected many Red River Métis families as well as our neighbours, friends, and loved ones. Please be safe and pay attention to the weather warnings as they come in.

Rest assured, your Red River Métis Government has your back, and is proactively working to support those experiencing a weather-related emergency. Our focus right now is coordinating with the most affected areas to see how we can support Citizens during these trying times.

If you need support for storm-related impacts, please do not hesitate to reach out via email at EmergencyResponse@mmf.mb.ca or via our Emergency Flood Line at 1-888-362-2012.

We will continue to share updates with you via email and social media. Regional Offices are also making phone calls and checking in with our Citizens.

For those who need mental health supports, please contact the MMF's Mental Wellness Support Line. The line is open every day from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. toll-free at 1-833-390-1041 ext. 1.

Lastly, please reach out to our Elders, seniors, and vulnerable Citizens in your community to ensure they are safe during this time.

During times of crisis, our Nation has always come together to work, shoulder-to-shoulder, hand-in-hand, to support each other and our neighbours. I have already heard many stories of how we are helping each other, and I am proud that this tradition continues today, showing the hearts of our Citizens and the strength of our Nation.

Your President,

David Chartrand
