MMF and M Builds announce International Amateur Boxing Event Melee X at Club Regent Event Centre on September 27, proceeds going to MMF Heritage Fund
August 18, 2025
Winnipeg, MB, in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis - M Builds and the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), National Government of the Red River Métis, are thrilled to announce Melee Gala X, Manitoba's premier Boxing Gala Event on Saturday, September 27 at Club Regent Event Centre presented by United Boxing Club. This highly anticipated Vegas-style boxing show promises an evening of exciting action featuring both Olympic-caliber athletes from Team Canada and Team U.S.A., as well as The United Boxing Corporate Challenge.
This year's Melee Gala is in support of the MMF's Heritage Fund (MMHF) - a philanthropic initiative of the Red River Métis Government. Our event will specifically benefit Michif Manor on Notre Dame, a "home away from home" short-term stay facility offering accommodations at significantly reduced costs to Red River Métis families who must travel to Winnipeg to receive critical health services.
Via a prospect camp, United Boxing Club has selected boxers for The Corporate Challenge, who will raise funds leading up to Melee Gala X. One hundred percent of funds raised will go to the MMF's Heritage Fund in support of Michif Manor. Under the expert guidance of United Boxing Club's seasoned coaches, these novice boxers train for 12-weeks in preparation to square off against one another in exciting white-collar bouts at The Melee Gala X.
"We are so fortunate to partner with the MMF on the Melee X. It's an excellent partnership and great for our community. Any time you can support amateur sport and make money for people in need is an awesome opportunity," said Ryan Savage, President of United Boxing Club.
"Partnering with the MMF on Melee Gala X is something we're incredibly proud of," said Robert Ferraro, M Builds managing partner. "It's more than just a great event - it's about showing up for the Métis Community in a real, tangible way. Supporting Michif Manor means helping families when they need it most, and that's something we're honoured to be part of."
"It's an undeniable fact that our Citizens have poorer health outcomes than anyone else in Canada, a country we helped build," said David Chartrand, President of the MMF. "We built Michif Manor with the vision of helping our Citizens who live in rural and remote areas secure a safe, culturally sensitive, and well-located place to stay while they or their loved ones receive vital health care services. Partnering with organizations like M Builds and the United Boxing Club in support of our Citizens will help Michif Manor be even more accessible to people who might otherwise not have a secure and safe place to stay. Supporting one another as Manitobans was the vision of our people when we founded this great province, and I'm proud to see that this tradition continues today."
