October 20, 2025

Winnipeg, MB, in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis - Yesterday, during the final day of the 2025 Annual General Assembly, the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis, proudly presented the King Charles III Coronation Medal to 17 worthy individuals for their significant contributions to uplifting and strengthening our community.

The Medal, created to mark the accession of His Majesty King Charles III to the throne, is presented to individuals who have devoted themselves to the well-being of their people and country. This honour reflects our ancestral Red River Métis values of generosity, resilience, and kinship, which each of the following deserving recipients have embodied throughout their lives.

"Each and every recipient of the medals was known to the Citizens in Assembly, which speaks to their contributions and long serving dedication on behalf of our people," said David Chartrand, President of the MMF. "I could see the deep pride and joy in the eyes of the recipients as they were celebrated by the entire Assembly."

This recognition is part of the MMF's ongoing commitment to uplift and celebrate the achievements and lifelong commitments of our Red River Métis Citizens across the Homeland.
