Canadian Armed Forces Apology for Racial Discrimination and Racial Harassment

On Thursday, October 30th, 2025. The Canadian Armed Forces issued a formal apology to all current and former CAF members who were affected by systemic racism, racial discrimination, and racial harassment during their military service.

The Apology was delivered at a ceremony in Ottawa, Ontario, acknowledging the CAF's challenges in fostering a workplace where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully

Canada has been clear that this is apology is not an end to the work of addressing harm and creating meaningful and lasting change, but rather is part of a sustained institutional effort to dismantle systemic barriers, address biases, and create a more healthy, respectful, and inclusive workplace for all CAF members
