February 13, 2026
We are excited to share with our Veterans, who were released on or after April 1, 2025, the news that the Veteran Family Telemedicine Service (VFTS) is now available to all eligible Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, their families, and survivors to sign up. Signing up is easy and free!
Eligibility is as follows:
- Veterans released on or after April 1, 2025 who do not have a regular primary care provider like a family doctor, nurse practitioner or clinic (excluding walk-in) and who do not have access to cost-free virtual care services in their jurisdiction.
- Surviving families of a serving CAF member who died on or after April 1, 2025 are also eligible.

VFTS is funded through Veterans Affairs Canada in Partnership with the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. It connects eligible participants to Maple, a national network of Canadian-licensed doctors, nurse practitioners, and healthcare providers who are accessible online via secure text messaging, audio, or video. Initially launched in January 2022 as a limited time initiative, the VFTS has been extended until 2027.
