Deep Roots, Strong Blooms | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Winnipeg North Local and Lii Michif Otipemisiwak 2SLGBTQ+ & Allies Local invite Citizens to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with an afternoon of reflection, connection, and celebration.

Taking place on September 30th, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Riel House National Historic Site, 330 River Road, the event will focus on reconnecting with historic Red River Métis ways of life and celebrating our future.

The afternoon will feature Elder Shirley Langan, music by Jason Lapine, Finger weaving with LRI, an Orange Shirt pin project, a social food spread, and more.

Please note: The parking lot is reserved for vehicles displaying a blue accessible parking pass.

There will be a shuttle from 150 Henry Avenue to St Vital Mall.

Orange shirts are available for purchase in advance of the event, with all proceeds supporting the event.
