My Little Métis Box

Inside each My Little Métis Box, you will find various items you and your children can explore and enjoy together. We hope that the activities included in this kit will assist you and your child in expanding your knowledge about our Red River Métis culture, history, and traditions.

Our Red River Métis children and families are an integral part of our communities and history, so take some time to understand the contents together. Ask questions, source the answers, and encourage open dialogue, but most importantly, have fun!

Eligibility: Your child must be both between the ages of zero to six and hold a Manitoba Métis Federation Citizen card.

Licensed Home Child Care Program

Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) is proud to offer the Manitoba Metis Federation Home Child Care Program (HCCP) to eligible Red River Métis Citizens in Manitoba. The HCCP is designed to help Red River Métis Citizens overcome the challenge of the financial barriers of starting a Licensed Home Child Care program.

The ELCC department will assist in the licensing and business coaching and provide eligible Red River Métis Citizens with a $40,000 forgivable loan (with a five-year commitment) towards the start-up of a Licensed Home Child Care.

10-Week Entrepreneurship & Licensing Program will assist the applicant through the Manitoba Licensing Application Process and provide weekly business workshops to prepare those in the program for overall success. The purpose of the MMF ELCC Licensed Home Child Care Program is to address the need for Child Care spaces in Manitoba by offering high-quality, accessible, and affordable licensed childcare.

Bundle of Joy

Bundle of Joy is a baby bundle for expecting Red River Métis Citizens with a newborn on the way. The bundle will include cultural and impactful items to help newborns and caregivers settle into life comfortably as they embark on this new journey together.
