President's Message

President David Chartrand

Ahead of the Extraordinary General Assembly, this June, cabinet ministers, and I are traveling across the Red River Métis Homeland and consulting with Citizens about the Red River Self-Government Treaty with Canada.

These consultations are an opportunity for you to make history with us, and for your government to keep you informed about the progress of the Red River Self-Government Treaty. You will have the chance to ask questions and my team, and I will address any concerns you may have. The consultations are also an opportunity for you to learn about the proposed changes to our constitution - changes that are necessary to reflect our position as the National Government of the Red River Métis.

The last number of years have been challenging for our community, however, in caring for one another you have demonstrated our national character built on strength, resilience, perseverance, and love of family. For the Red River Métis, the future is full of promise, and I am proud to be on this journey with you.

David Chartrand
President
