Our Story

The Government of the Manitoba Métis Federation believes that all our children should have access to high-quality and culturally appropriate early learning education to set them up for a future filled with success.

In 2018, the release of the Indigenous Early Learning and Childcare Framework was the beginning of the Manitoba Métis Federation Early Learning and Child Care Department. The Framework was developed after undertaking extensive community consultations across the Homeland of the Red River Métis. The outcome of the consultations established guiding principles to follow when providing culturally relevant child care programs for our Red River Métis children.
