My Little Métis Box

Inside each My Little Métis Box, you will find various items you and your children can explore and enjoy together. We hope that the activities included in this kit will assist you and your child in expanding your knowledge about our Red River Métis culture, history, and traditions.

Our Red River Métis children and families are an integral part of our communities and history, so take some time to understand the contents together. Ask questions, source the answers, and encourage open dialogue, but most importantly, have fun!

Eligibility: Your child must be both between the ages of zero to six and hold a Manitoba Métis Federation Citizen card.

Licensed Home Child Care Program

The Manitoba Métis Federation's Early Learning & Child Care Department (ELCC) is proud to offer the Licensed Home Child Care Program (LHCCP) to eligible Red River Métis Citizens. The purpose of the Licensed Home Child Care Program is to help Red River Métis Citizens overcome the financial barriers of starting a Licensed Home Child Care, and address the need for Child Care spaces by offering high-quality, accessible, and affordable Licensed Child Care.

The ELCC Department will provide eligible Red River Métis Citizens with a $40,000 forgivable loan (with a five-year commitment) towards the start-up of a Licensed Home Child Care. The ELCC Department will also assist applicants with the Manitoba licensing application process and provide a business workshop to prepare applicants for entrepreneurial success.
