Overview

Michif Manor is a culturally focused home away from home for Red River Métis families who are traveling to Winnipeg for medical care.

The Manitoba Métis Federation recognizes that our Northern and rural Red River Métis Citizens face continuous healthcare barriers, due to the lack of services offered in their Communities, forcing them to travel to Winnipeg for treatment.

Michif Manor will welcome Citizens with open arms, providing a safe and affordable place to stay, so that they can focus on what is most important - their health.

This three-story building houses 12 suites, including 10 Standard Suites and 2 Family Suites. Other features include:

• Two Communal Kitchens where Citizens can cook the comforts of home and enjoy their meals in the attached Dining Room
• A Lounge where Citizens can rest at the end of the day
• The Games Room will serve as a well-needed distraction as parents relax while watching their children play
• The onsite Classroom will offer cultural programming and resources
• Fitness Room, Laundry Facilities, Outdoor Living Space and More!

How to book your stay at Michif Manor

To be eligible, individuals must be a Red River Métis Citizen travelling to Winnipeg for medical care and obtain a referral letter from a medical professional. Please call Michif Manor at 431-482-5204 and speak to a Client Services Coordinator for further information on booking your stay.

How YOU can make a difference

As Michif Manor's founding and lifelong partner, the Manitoba Métis Federation provides constant support with a steadfast commitment to take care of its Red River Métis Citizens. However, even with MMF's unwavering support, the continued generosity of Manitobans is needed to cover most of Michif Manor's operating costs through donations and support services.
