Identity Protection and Inter-Indigenous Relations

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) - the National Government of the Red River Métis has established the Identity Protection and Inter-Indigenous Relations portfolio to advance and safeguard the distinct rights and identity of the Red River Métis.

This portfolio leads efforts to prevent the misappropriation of Red River Métis identity while building and maintaining respectful relationships with First Nations and Inuit governments and communities.

Grounded in Red River Métis culture, history, and self-determination, the portfolio supports collaboration, dialogue, and shared advocacy that strengthens Indigenous-to-Indigenous relations.
